Gelphin the Greenman

A new Greenman is born and exhibited at the Beaux Arts Festival this past weekend. Beautiful weather and 300 artists from all over. This show takes place in Miami on the grounds of the University of Miami. Abeautiful venue for a great show.....

Thank you for your continued support. I feel extremely honored to be able to continue to create freely and be met with such a warm response to my creations. I am a very fortunate artist. Thanks again, Haydn

A Feather Catcher

This woodland spirit is a Feather Catcher- he has a hole in his hat to hold and display proudly your favorite feathers. I thought everybody needed a display accessory. The piece is about 4" in height and includes a wooden stand.

The Family in Boston

This is a shot of the "crew" in Boston (Walden Pond) last summer. My wife Deets in the sunglasses- Taraka, a student at The Museum School of Fine Arts Boston, next- and Nimai, a film student in Orlando on the far right. We go to Boston and points north whenever we get a chance. I love the museums and bookshops. The Berkshires are impressive too.

A booted Buddha

Sorry for the lack of new visuals, we just got back from a visit to Boston. Love that town... I will write a longer report later. This buddha (the idea) came to me while on a trip to Philley several years ago. We sat at a Chinese restaurant trying to look comfortable with a set of chopsticks. The lady next to us appeared to be some sort of a Buddhist monk. She was a whizz at chopsticks and gave us a quick lesson. East meets West; so I have created a "booted" Buddha as a declaration of how east can meet west and be completely ecstatic about the whole affair.

A Two-Steppin' Frog

Don't tell anybody, but hopping is overrated.

Comedy/Tragedy

Life's a roller-coaster, at least mine is...I wanted to create a piece that kind of tied those two extremes togather(?) and put them out there so I could get a perspective on this mysterious thing called life.

Party Dog

A companion in crime to my Party Cat he has a loyal fan base all his own. I have more of my smaller pieces to put up here but this photo was sent by a friend who bought him at a recent Art Show. He wanted me to know that my dog had found a good home.

Spring Sprite

This small piece is a new one; she comes on a stand and has a hook in the back for hanging in that little nook. I have designed quite a few of these miniature plaques (3" diameter) and I will post more in the coming days. Right now I am trying to get ready for my last show of this year...It is this weekend then I will have more time to Blog. Can't wait.

Stargoyle

I am working on a bunch of montages that incorporate some of the images I create in clay. These pieces allow me to play around with color and juxtaposition alot more than the sculptures. I hope to create a line of notecards soon. But in the meantime....

Well its the weekend and time for a Party Cat. This party animal has his Mardi-Gras mask on and is just waiting for a good time. Party anyone?

Coiled Dragon

I found this guardian-guy on the front gates to the king's palace in Mexico City. He is carved into the two front gates of the palace and has been guarding it for hundreds of years. He looks great by a front door. He's 9'' in diameter and like all the rest of my work is just at home outside or inside.

Woodland Jester

This nature spirit is about 9" tall, He can hang on a tree, by a doorway or any little nook. I created him to remind us to- "never trust a man in the forest wearing a funny hat."

Sunface

This Sunface was inspired by a face that I saw on a fountain in front of the U.S. Treasury Bldg. in D.C. A woman in Miami told me that it looked just like her husband . Art is a very subjective thing.

My Booth Set Up

This is what my booth looks like at the shows that I do. I love my booth; it's my storefront; my gallery; my face to the world. I hope to be in a town near you, but in the meantime, check back here for new work and my musings about life on the road, the people I meet, etc. My work can be purchased from my blog. Contact me. I will be adding new work and news constantly.

The River Nymph

This small, sweet lady is a water sprite living in an abundance of lilypads.

Yin/Yang Koi

This sculpture brings balance, and that sense of being at peace with the universe...even if that universe is your own back yard.

Welcome to a work in progress

This is our new Haydn Larson Studios blog site...it's under construction. My buddy Tamra just helped me get this thing sort of set up. So come back often because now that I am a blogger-I'M DANGEROUS.
This is my booth... I love my booth. It is only 10x10 feet and it moves around from town to town from week to week but it looks pretty much like this every week end.
